“Many people believe that communicating effectively is merely a matter of finding and using the right magic words. They believe that if they use certain words in just the right order, they’ll get the results they need.

 

Unfortunately, these people may be wasting their precious time. Scientific research tells us that attempting to persuade by words alone can be as futile as trying to chop down a tree with a spoon.

 

In a study at UCLA, researchers found that in face-to-face encounters the actual words we use account for a mere 7% of the way we are perceived. We get most of the message, about 55% from facial expressions and body language.  The remaining 38% comes from the quality of the speaker’s voice: pitch, tone, and inflection.

 

The implications of this are shocking. If anything about your voice is flat or distracting, annoying, or boring, you could be reducing your effectiveness by 38%!

 

Clearly, it’s not what we say but how we say it that counts.”

Answer Midwest is an answering service for businesses and physicians nationwide. We are available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week for our clients. We never close for any reason. Our customers cover a broad spectrum of businesses. We provide each of them the vital first impression of their company and the assurance to their customer that their call is truly important and is being handled effectively, professionally and quickly. 

 

2.      WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR EMPLOYEES:

Every call we take is sensitive and important. Callers select a business based on the level of confidence we exude and the expectations of the service they expect.  We have high expectations for our employees and their ability to go above and beyond to better serve our clients.

a.      Dress Code: Casual business appropriate attire allowed and you must be clean and covered. 

b.      A Positive Attitude: Gossiping, negative attitudes, rudeness or bickering will not be tolerated.

c.      Attendance: All employees are expected to be on time and present for their scheduled shifts.

d.      Weather: We do NOT accept call offs for bad weather, we will provide transportation if needed.

e.      Weekends: Since we never close, all employees are required to work some hours that do include both weekends and holidays. We cannot offer positions to those individuals who are unavailable on these days.

f.        Flexibility: Hours vary from week to week according to our call volumes and schedules are posted as early as possible to allow employees to schedule appointments around work. Trading shifts is allowed as needed by employees if approved by management.      

 

3.      WHAT WE OFFER OUR EMPLOYEES:

a.      Hourly Wages: Starting pay is $8.25 with a .50 cent raise after a 90 day probationary period and yearly raises thereafter, we also have several incentives available including quality bonus,  emergency pay bonus, perfect attendance bonus, quarterly perfect attendance bonus, idea bonus, referral bonus, compliment bonuses, midnight shift bonus, paid training & breaks and birthday off paid. 

b.      Paid Vacation Time: We offer sick days after 6 months and vacation days after one year of service based on the amount of hours worked.  

c.      Insurance: Full time employees are eligible for medical, dental and life insurance benefits after probation. Insurance premiums are shared with a percentage being paid by the employer and a percentage being paid by the employee based on the length of service by the employee.

d.      Holidays: We recognize and pay time and ˝ for hours worked on the following major holidays; New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
